Lerix was brought to my attention the other day, and I must say I am pleasantly surprised with him so far. Dinner with Jack Donaghy is a 10-track EP which features the range of style Lerix is capable of. He reminds me a bit of Lupe Fiasco with his voice/flow in a couple of the tracks which is never a bad thing. I decided to give track by track review (not including interludes) of the EP. You can listen to the whole project after the jump.

1. "New Season" - Great track to open up the EP, has a Nelly feel to it in regards to the instrumental. HOT
2. "I'm Gone" - My personal favorite track off the EP. Hits hard from the beginning with solid lyrics and an addicting instrumental. I dig the chorus too. FIRE
3. "Space Bound" - At first I thought this was going to be a freestyle to Eminem's "Space Bound" but I was wrong. Love the chorus, but the rest of the song seems rather plain to me. WARM
4. "Villain's Song" - Not the biggest fan of this track. Personally, I'm not a fan of the sound effect that deepens a voice, and this is heard consistently through the song. Although there is good flow in the verses. WARM
6. "The Girl From The Other Night" - Decent track. Like the instrumental for the first 30 seconds, then it gets too repetitive for me. WARM
7. "Unapologetic" - Love the beat, chorus and flow on this joint. This and "I'm Gone" are the anthems of the EP without a doubt. FIRE
9. "Another Round" - Has a funky beat which I dig, but I don't see it being the most memorable track. HOT

Dinner with Jack Donaghy = WARM

Thanks to Olivia Dikambi for enlightening me about this new artist.
