Without a doubt one of the most influential rap artists of all-time, The Notorious BIG was killed in a drive-by shooting 15 years ago to the day in Los Angeles. Biggie Smalls has a lasting impression on the hip-hop genre. Many artists have tried to mimic his delivery, style, and flow, but they haven't even touched Biggie's legacy. The Brooklyn emcee is my favorite rap artist of all-time along with Eminem. His life was cut down too short, and we can only imagine what Biggie would have done for the rest of his career. I have memorized countless songs of his such as "Juicy", "Who Shot Ya", "Big Poppa", and "Suicidal Thoughts" just to name a few. The word play and flow is seriously unmatched in this day and age. It's been 15 years, it's felt like a couple decades since the big man was on the mic rocking shows.
This is a day to celebrate his life and the talents he shared with all of us. One cool thing about music is it doesn't matter if the artist is living or not, his/her voice will always live on through speakers.
