Hi-Rez "The Window" Mixtape

I've briefly listened to a few of the songs on here, and it's sounding solid right now. Go ahead and listen to Ft. Lauderdale's finest rapper Hi-Rez and his new mixtape. I have been high on this guy for a few months now and his new tape is finally here.

Hi-Rez (feat. Kyle B) "Music In Me"

This may be one of the most addicting songs I've ever heard. The first time I heard it, I was impressed, but only the chorus struck me as being memorable. Listened to it back again, and the lyrics are awesome by Hi-Rez. The instrumental is on point and very smooth. Mark my words, Hi-Rez will be a household name by 2013, GUARANTEED.

Anthony Vincent (feat. Hi-Rez) "It Feels Right"

I don't even know where to start, because this is one of the best songs I have heard in a while in terms of overall quality. The house music-esque instrumental, the chorus, and the SICK flow by Hi-Rez are all dope. Seriously, Hi-Rez murdered this song. Although Hi-Rez says he isn't changing his style, I wouldn't mind hearing more of this in the future.  Anthony Vincent's singing in the chorus gives the song a good vibe. Don't miss this one!

Hi-Rez (feat. QuESt) "X-Problems"

This cat continues to impress with his music. Recently announced that he is going to perform at Bamboozle over summer, that's huge for him. Take a listen and be blown away by this smooth, lyrical song. I know some of you, like me, can relate to this track...

Sizzlin Song Sample Of 2011 = "Smiling"

Hi-Rez is another artist I stumbled upon this year, and his song "Smiling" has the best sample from any song this year. He definitely makes it his own while sampling "Midnight City" by M83. This 18 year old hip hop artist from Ft. Lauderdale will be blowing up very soon. Check out his mixtape A Walk To Remember and be sure to look out for this dude in the future. Meanwhile, the visuals for his upbeat and feel good song "Smiling" are below.

The clouds are never grey
If only there was a place
If you can just see my face
Y'all would see I'm smiling"

"I made business cards and kids ripped 'em up, I spent an hour of my time tryin' to pick 'em up, So if you doubtin yourself thinkin bout givin up, Look at me now man this isn't where I pictured us"
- "It Was Never Easy"

Hi-Rez thoroughly impressed me with this mixtape. Keep in mind I hadn't even heard of the dude before yesterday night, and the mixtape was on repeat ALL night. He uses his talent by showcasing many different genres including hip-hop, groove, r&b, and rap. Age is only a number because Hi-Rez is just a 17 year old from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The potential of Hi-Rez is going to depend on whether or not he can continue to get his name out there and stick to his style. In a couple years I feel Hi-Rez will be a household name in the hip-hop industry.

Hi-Rez (feat. David Minsky) "Rock With You"

Alright a mixtape review will be in order now for sure during this week but one last song off this mixtape before I post the whole thing. Unique groovy feel to this song which makes it soooooo good! Hi-Rez is blowing my mind tonight. Open an ear to to this guy, please.

SIZZLE SCORE = PERFECT 10

Hi-Rez "Smiling" "It Was Never Easy"

Laid-back hip-hop at its finest with this track from Hi-Rez. Hailing from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, (sigh, I love FL) he has some real talent. Did I mention he is ONLY 17? Sorry if you're a huge Mac Miller fan, but this kid has a brighter future. The fact that many people think Miller has sold out is only destroying his reputation more, whether you like it or not. He raps about more than just money and mary jane, unlike Mac in most of his songs. Hi-Rez is original with his music and has a sick mixtape out, "A Walk To Remember."  If I have time this week I'll be sure to do a review on it. Anyways, give this a listen.

UPDATE: "It Was Never Easy" was just played on my iPod, and it is a BOMB track sampling Coldplay. I had to add it.

SIZZLE SCORE = PERFECT 10 FOR BOTH
